Welcome to Diabetes Foot Risk Assessment Tool
This site was designed in response to Australian’s National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) National Evidence-Based Guideline on Prevention, Identification and Management of Foot Complications in Diabetes that advise, "any suitably trained health care professional may perform the risk assessment" [1].
This Diabetes Foot Risk Assessment tool aims to make it easier for more health care practitioners to assess feet in a fast, practical and reliable way. It is coupled with a risk calculator as used in cardiovascular health. If you fill in the form the computer will generate the risk, recommendation and suggested review time.
All foot risk calculations are based on the NHMRC Guidelines [1] and the risk calculations will not change until the NHMRC evidence changes.
